The main attraction for so many people coming to the Gold Coast is the city called Surfers Paradise which is not a far drive from the city of Brisbane. To get there you can fly into the Gold Coast airport or you can fly into Brisbane and catch a train down to the coast. I prefer to get a rental car from the Brisbane airport and then drive down to Surfers Paradise so that I can stop along the way at some of the fresh produce farms which are no slowly disappearing because of all the development.

There are many ways of getting to the Gold Coast and buses or trains are only the beginning. Surfers Paradise has its own set of unique car rental agencies that have fun cars like Mini Moke soft tops and small scooters for those that only have a learners permit. The one professional company that I always use is the car rental Surfers Paradise agents which are located in several locations around the city for convenience. Most of the hotels will shuttle you to the rental agent if you ask them to.

The beaches of surfers are a big attraction as well as the ample shopping and the clubs and pubs. The night life here is something completely different while during the day everything slows down just a little so that you can enjoy the sunshine and warm weather of the sub tropics of Queensland.
